Everyone has a great story, but
They may not know how to tell it.
We believe that amazing stories can come from anywhere. However, most people just don't have the right, approach, tools or the access to be heard. By empowering people outside the Hollywood bubble with an innovative storytelling process, we give them the opportunity to share their stories with the world.
The Super Story Academy is an engaging and immersive writing community and educational module that provides a rich and varied context for students to acquire, develop and apply a broad range of knowledge, understanding and skills.
By teaching students practical Hollywood writing techniques and approaching writing as “building”, this project allows student to approach writing from a completely different standpoint, to think creatively and critically, to solve problems and to realize that given the right process, everyone can engage in writing and ultimately defeat the dreaded blank page.
Discovering New Stories Through Innovative Education

Hope Through Structure
With a philosophy firmly rooted in the belief that, given the proper approach and environment, all students have the capacity for quality creative output, we have designed a cross-curricular educational project that helps students overcome the intimidation of creative writing, while simultaneously making career connections that allow the students to witness how the creative process can be applied in the real world.
We want to offer a sense of hope to students who believe theyʼre not creative and in the renewal of the critical role that creativity and imagination can play in cultivating innovation in schools. Because creativity is an important disposition that can be nurtured or discouraged, the Super Story Academy promotes this critical element of thought and stimulates innovative ideas in a context that blends multiple creative and business disciplines.
A Super Story Academy allows students to:

Use Hollywood writing techniques to engage with a cross-curricular experience,

Use the Super Story model to learn how to unlock and maximize their creativity,

Incubate student-generated innovation and high concept ideas, and

Connect in meaningful and productive ways with a robust online community.
So many people all across the world, especially students in over-looked communities feel like their stories, their voices, and their experiences will remain hidden from the rest of the world. With the Super Story Academy, we not only want to give students a toolkit to stimulate their writing ability, but also give them access to take their stories to the rest of the world.
HAMMERS: The hammers are reflective of the mindset shift from creative writing being simply open-ended, stream of consciousness wandering to a process of building.
BAY LEAVES: The bay leaves represent the writer’s laurels and writing achievement.
PENCILS: The pencils on the other end of the hammers represent how creativity and writing can coincide with process and story building. Even though creativity and processes operate on different sides of the brain does not mean they’re enemies or mutually exclusive ideals.
ASPEN LEAVES: The aspen leaves represent doing something you never thought you could do. Far too many students feel this way about creative writing.
CHEVRON: The chevron symbol stands for an achievement in building.
GOLD: The color gold represents crowning achievement.
The Crest
CHESS ROOK: The chess rook stands for strategic thinking, which is the foundation of the writing philosophy espoused by One 3 Creative.
PLAID: The plaid pattern reinforces the academy element of community. While fun, creative writing is also an important scholarly act and should be recognized as such.

The project disarms the initial intimidation of writing and empowers the students from the very beginning of the writing process.

Students learn how to move, scrap, change and swap out ideas and scenarios without a major revision, reorganization or without a major sense of failure.

Students complete the project feeling creatively invigorated and walk away having the tools and the confidence to utilize this creative process within their own creative or professional activities moving forward.

A sense of purpose and community is created through creative collaboration, along with opportunities for students to call upon their individual strengths and abilities.

The project extracts the hidden creativity in students who have been branded as (either by themselves, their teachers or their parents) uncreative while simultaneously focusing the unbridled creativity of students who have a natural gift toward language arts.

How the Academy Works
Our team of creative professionals come to your school and teach your students our unique, signature creative process based off establish Hollywood models.
Students work together to develop fun, imaginative, yet commerically-viable high concept stories.
The students work in writing teams and learn how to "build" a story as a way of defeating the intimidation of the blank page.
After building their stories, the students write fully-developed treatments and send them to our team of Hollywood professionals.
The winning team travels to Hollywood to pitch their treatment to studios, production companies and networks at the Great American Pitch Fest.
Our creative team works with the writing team on treatments re-writes as well as trains them how to pitch professionally.
One treatment is chosen as the "winner" of the group and the writing team will then have an opportunity to pitch the story in Hollywood.
